Meet the Newest Part of the Team – Katie, Our Content Creator

My name is Katie Travilla, and I’m proud to say I am the new content creator for the web marketing and development team here at ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo. You may be thinking, “Wait, what is a content creator?” Well initially, it involves me writing blogs with a goal of expanding categories and creating more topics, to address an even wider variety of readers’ interests.

It’s a pleasure and honor to be working with such a reputable company that has been serving Kalamazoo and the surrounding areas for more than 60 years. ServiceMaster is truly a blessing to others. Our teams impress our customers, and they spend countless hours working around the schedules of businesses and residences.

I am extremely excited in my new position here for many reasons. I’m not simply a blog writer for ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo, but rather, a part of the whole team. I will be participating in cleaning jobs to gain firsthand experience, as well as shadowing crew leaders at jobs I’m not certified for, such as mold remediation. It will be great to have inside perspective and share experiences with highly educated and trained crew leaders and technicians.

I’m also glad to be sharing my efforts with a company that helps people in times of crisis. I have seen firsthand our disaster restoration team get up, countless times, in the middle of the night to save a flooding basement.

I am thrilled to be a part of a cleaning company that emphasizes positivity within their employees and in all aspects of the company. You will feel cared about more than the average customer whether you’re walking into our doors, or we’re walking into yours. ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo commits to helping their employees develop and they also commit to excel with every customer. I believe these two commitments mixed with positivity has helped them become a leader in the cleaning service industry.

On a different note, back when I was sitting in my college classes wondering about future writing careers, I wasn’t sure where I would be. People would ask me in a negative tone, “What can you do with a practical writing degree?” My answers would be vague; they didn’t understand my motivation. But the one thing I always knew: I wanted to work for a company that serves people; I wanted to be helpful; I wanted to be a blessing to others. And here I am writing for ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo.

Again, I am so happy to be a part of this amazing team! With the ServiceMaster Crew of Kalamazoo by my side, I will be able to share specific stories and experiences with you, continue to give tips and tricks (see blog post series of tips and tricks here) and introduce you to all the employees here at ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo throughout our blogs.
