Tom Little:
My name is Tom Little. I’m the owner of ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo. Our business provides emergency services after fires, floods, water damages for both residential and commercial buildings. When someone has water damage in their home or a fire, it’s very much a time of need and we really work to restore peace of mind to those individuals and put their home or business back to the way it was before the loss.
We also have a janitorial division where we provide cleaning for businesses.
ServiceMaster of Kalamazoo has been in Southwest Michigan since 1953. I purchased this business in 1981. When I bought the business in 1981, I joined the Chamber that year and felt like it was very important to give back to the community. The community was helping us, and the Chamber, I felt, was very involved and has been very involved. As a company, we support and hold blood drives here, quarterly, in our faculty. We also support many of the local golf outings that support non-profits, and that may be in the way of silent auction donations and other things. Many of our employees are also involved in their churches, other organizations. I’m involved in Rotary and also that involves mentoring of students.
We have about 130 employees. We are growing. We are constantly looking for new individuals to join our team.
